Petra Winery is located in the Subotica wine region, right on the shore of Lake Palić, in a beautiful natural setting that offers ideal conditions for grape cultivation. It was named after the owner’s daughter, who, when asked about the winery’s name, he says is a synonym for quality and serves as a reminder never to falter or tarnish his daughter’s name.
The first vineyards were planted in 2009 on 2.5 hectares, followed by an additional 0.5 hectares in 2017. The varieties cultivated are Pinot Noir, Traminer, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The soil is rich in clay and loam with excellent pH and a quality humus layer, and the climatic conditions are very favorable for growing high-quality grape varieties, with plenty of sunny days and gentle winds that constantly ventilate the vineyard, preventing the development of diseases and other harmful effects on the vines. Temperature differences and the microclimate throughout the entire growth cycle contribute to the proper ripening of all key factors so that the grapes reach full phenolic maturity.
Kada su uvideli sve pozitivne strane naše mikro klime, stekli više iskustva i shvatili da oni to mogu, odlučili su da pređu na organsku proizvodnju grozđa i vina. Tako da, od 2021. godine poseduju i sertifikat za proizvodnju organskog grožđa i vina.
