Palić Picnic

Following last year’s exceptional success, the Palić Picnic is welcoming its visitors once again this year!

at Sunday, August 2nd, from 4 PM, Music Strand On the shores of Lake Palić, the summer oasis and gathering place for all generations comes alive once again. Whether you come with family, friends, acquaintances or on your own, a rich and diverse programme offers unforgettable experiences for everyone. Regardless of whether you are looking for fun, relaxed conversations or a peaceful afternoon by the lake, everyone will find their perfect way to enjoy themselves here. All you need is a picnic blanket and a little good company.

The youngest visitors can look forward to a magic show, creative workshops and performances by our associates from Tinker Labs, along with games in the Boom Boom children’s playroom and the Kids Relax programme – activities that encourage fun and creative development. Those who bring an extra T-shirt can create a unique souvenir together with the artist Oto Zakar, help with colouring the templates and make a special memory to take home. The atmosphere of the picnic, from 5 PM, will be further enhanced by DJ Andy Dee, whose music will make the afternoon even more vibrant.

The event will be complemented by a rich gastronomic offer: local wines, craft beers, gin-based cocktails, refreshing drinks and many other delicacies await visitors.

As a special ending to the evening, from 9 PM, in cooperation with the Abazija Cinema from Palić, under the starry sky, there will be a screening of the French film “Monsieur Blake” which will be shown in its original language with Serbian subtitles.

A starry sky, a special lakeside atmosphere and the gentle sound of waves will make this summer evening unforgettable.

Cinephonia – Film Music Under the Stars

This year, the audience will once again have the opportunity to enjoy the most beautiful and recognizable melodies from the world of cinema in the unique atmosphere of the Palić Summer Stage, under the open sky and the stars on a magical summer evening.

The concert will not be held. On Friday, July 31, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM. .

The Subotica Symphony Orchestra will perform the most famous film music melodies, featuring soloists Nebojša Rakić and Dušan Svilár, while the orchestra will be conducted by Mikcia Jevtic.

The program includes the most renowned musical themes from domestic and international films, which have become unforgettable parts of generations of viewers’ cinematic experiences.

After the Belgrade audience welcomed the concert with a standing ovation and confirmed that film music gains a special charm when performed in a symphonic arrangement, the Subotica Symphony Orchestra is delighted to bring the same program to the audience in Palić.

Tickets priced at 1,000 dinars can be purchased at the box office of the National Theatre in Subotica, which is open on weekdays from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Ticket reservations can be made by phone: 024/557-436 and 062/509-377.

33rd International European Film Festival Palić

The European Film Festival Palić, one of the most important art festivals in Serbia and one of the most important European film festivals in the world, will be held for the 33rd time in the period from July 18 to 22, 2026.

The founder of the festival is the City of Subotica, while the organizer and executive producer is the Open University Subotica. As an event of national importance, it is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Provincial Secretariat for Culture of AP Vojvodina, and the City of Subotica, while as a renowned European festival it is supported by the European Union through the MEDIA sub-programme of Creative Europe.
The European Film Festival Palić aims to present the highest quality works of contemporary European cinematography and nurture the tradition of auteur and art film, thereby contributing not only to the cultural development of Subotica and Serbia but also achieving a global impact.
Programmatic specificity, as well as the unique environment in which it takes place, ensure significant attention from the audience and film professionals from all over Europe, which is evidenced by a large number of the most important names of European film who have visited the Palić Festival.

Every year, the festival programs, which in addition to film screenings include talks with artists, educational workshops, exhibitions, and a music program, are visited by about 25,000 spectators. Around 200 domestic and foreign guests from the world of film and art stay in Palić during the 5-7 festival days.
