Bagojvar vila (Sovina kula) i vila Lujza podignute su 1892. godine u okviru sportskog kompleksa Lajoša Vermeša (Nagybudafalvi Vermes Lajos 1860– 1945), istaknutog sportiste i osnivača čuvene Palićke olimpijade.Vile su izgrađene u tada popularnom švajcarskom stilu, sa elementima moderne arhitekture.Obe vile se nalaze nedaleko od obale Palićkog jezera, gde je 2004. godine podignut spomenik Lajošu Vermešu, dok je šetalište uz obalu jezera u njegovu čast ponelo naziv Obala Lajoša Vermeša.Vila Lujza pretvorena je u luksuzni objekat za smeštaj gostiju, dok Sovina kula nije otvorena za posetioce.
